/ United States / IntroductionThe United States of America comprises of fifty states. Out of these, forty-eight states along with Washington, D.C., the capital district are located in central North America. Out of the remaining two states, Alaska is in the northwest of the continent, while Hawaii is an archipelago in the mid-Pacific. Each and every state of the US is unique by itself and has something interesting to showcase to its visitors.
Washington the capital offers an endless number of attractions. The Washington State History Museum is a wonderful place to catch on a vast collection of exhibits. The Seattle International Film Festival is a premier festival of Washington. Music lovers can look forward to the Summer Chamber Music Festival, held out at Port Townsend.
Seattle is incomplete without mentioning its most important landmark Space Needle. It has been a feature in many films and should not be missed. Fish lovers and shoppers can check the Pike Place Market which is full of fishermen, vegetables and fruits, not to forget arts and crafts too. Seafair, a three-week summer festival has a fine display of carnivals, air shows, musical shows and torchlight parades.
Santa Monica a coastal city in California is another important tourism spot as it has a pleasant weather.
Alaska offers an exotic experience of cultural heritage. Ceremonial feasts are an important component of Alaska, and the native culture can be experienced at such feasts. The Alaska Folk Festival, the Sitka Summer Music Festival and the Fairbanks Winter Music Fest should not be missed by any music lover.
Santa Barbara is one of the most popular tourist places, as it has a fine blend of elegant beaches, gigantic mountains and a Mediterranean climate. The Santa Barbara Museum of Art and the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History can delight any art lover with their collection of historical artifacts. A wonderful collection of rare and exotic flora and fauna can be viewed at the Channel Islands National Park.
California has a landscape which can boast of the Sierra Nevada Mountains as well as the Sacramento Valley and the San Joaquin Valley. California also has a large number of world famous attractions like the Disneyland Resort, the San Francisco Chinatown, Fisherman's Wharf and the Golden Gate Bridge. The list of attractions is endless.
