The Glossary
Quang Ngai's heart beats as fast as that of a big metropolis, with its economy slowly picking up the pace of more developed urban areas such as Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. The town proper offers no particular attraction, apart from the nearby Duc Loi Beach, considered as one of the Quang Ngai Province's finest. On the outskirts are several ruins of the Cham kingdom, as well as the Chan Lo temple in the site south.
Stunning as the town may be, majority of the tourists are lured however to the My Lai Massacre Memorial, built in memory of the Vietnam War's most brutal killings. The memorial site comprises of mass graves for the hundreds of violently murdered and mutilated civilians, and a small museum with clippings of articles covering the 1968 blood bath.
