Saudi Arabia is a country located out in the Middle East and is also known as The Land of The Two Holy Mosques as Mecca and Madinah, the two holiest places in Islam is located in it.
Riyadh the capital of Saudi Arabia lies on the limestone plateau of Nejd, which is in the centre of the Arabian Peninsula. It's a city which houses modern buildings as well as local Saudi Arabian architecture designs. The King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh is one of the largest international airports in the world. The oldest part of Riyadh is known as Al-Bathaa. Riyadh has important financial, cultural, commercial and social organizations in it.
Mecca, which is situated in the Sirat Mountains, is the capital city of the Makkah Province. It is the most sacred place of Islam and is the birthplace of Muhammad, the Prophet. It hosts the yearly Muslim Hajj. The Kaabah Enclosure and the House of Abdullah Bin Abdul Muttalib, where Prophet Muhammad was born are two ancient monuments of historical as well as religious importance. Mecca also has shopping malls and skyscrapers in the city limits.
Madinah is the second holiest city of Islam and is located in the Hejaz region.
Hejaz is considered the cultural capital of Saudi Arabia. Many holy sites besides Mecca and Madinah too are found all around Hejaz.
AI-Hijr is well known for its ancient Islamic and Greek inscriptions and architectural remains which are of great importance to lovers of history and archaeology.
Jeddah, the second largest city of Saudi Arabia, is located on the banks of the Red Sea. Jeddah is of great importance as it has been considered as the chief gateway to Mecca. It has a history which is 2500 years old. It has important world famous mosques and great landmark edifices as Uthamn Ibn Affan Mosque, Al-Basha Mosque, AI-Meamar Mosque, and Al-Hanafi Mosque. It also has many recreation facilities which are well known for their world class restaurants and food joints.
Madain Saleh is a historical site which is located between narrow valleys and high mountainous ranges.
Taif is a major agricultural city in the province of Mecca. It is an important Islamic city.
Hasa is mostly known for its large coastal area and crowded fish markets.
